The main hotel for the RTG Conference will be the Sheraton Tacoma Hotel located right in downtown Tacoma. We have set aside, or blocked, 50 rooms. We would prefer that most of the attendees choose the Sheraton to stay in during the conference. It is central to and located near all of the venues. In fact, the Awards Ceremony will be held in the Sheraton Ballroom on Friday night. The main conference venue site, the University of Washington, Tacoma Campus, is several short blocks away and the Washington State History Museum and the International Glass Museum are right across the street from the UWT Campus.
The Sheraton is a very luxurious hotel with 310 rooms and many in-house facilities including Altezzo Ristorante on the 26th floor (nice view), the Broadway Grill in the lobby area, Elliott's Lounge (a bar) next to the grill, a gift shop, a beauty shop, a weight room and a very large waiting and lounging area in the main lobby with comfortable seating.
In addition, we have rented a space near the lobby called the Broadway Boardroom. This will serve as Information Central at the hotel for the conference and there will be coffee and an assortment of snacks for the conference attendees. This space will be open late and manned by conference volunteers to serve only you.
The Cost of One Regular Room will be $109.00 per room / per night plus regular taxes and hotel / motel tax. This is the 2001 Fall rate. The Sheraton will also ALLOW us to have four persons to a room for an additional $10 per room / per night. We are recommending that this privilege be used by students.

We will list other motels in the area and contact information and their rates for those who cannot afford the Sheraton Rate. We recommend that the Sheraton be your first choice. The secondary motels are a couple of miles up Highway 99 in Fife, Washington.
If you are willing to share your room with another, (same sex) and split the cost, please make a note on the bottom of your registration form.
